Quick answer: The LTWOO eRX (2x road, $999.99) and eGR (1x gravel, $719.99) work with most modern disc-brake road and gravel bikes. You need cassettes with an 11T smallest cog: 28–36T at the big end for eRX, and up to 50T for eGR. You also need flat mount brake mounts for 160mm rotors. For the eRX, your frame needs a braze-on front derailleur mount and internal routing for a seatpost battery. The eGR is fully wireless and only needs a rear derailleur hanger, including UDH. Both are mini groupsets, so you supply your own crankset, cassette, chain and rotors.
What is LTWOO?
LTWOO (also written L-TWOO) is a bicycle drivetrain manufacturer founded in 2016 in Zhuhai, China. It describes itself as China's largest bicycle transmission manufacturer and makes road, gravel, MTB and urban groupsets. Its founder spent a decade at SRAM before starting the company. Since 2023, LTWOO has run its own R&D centre in Shenzhen developing the motors used in its electronic derailleurs.

What you'll need to supply
Neither groupset includes a crankset, cassette, chain or brake rotors. That lets you reuse compatible parts you already own, or choose exactly the gearing you want.
Cassette compatibility
Both LTWOO groupsets need a cassette with an 11T smallest cog. Cassettes that start with a 10T cog aren't compatible. That rules out most SRAM AXS road and XPLR gravel cassettes, and MTB-style 10T cassettes.
- eRX (road): takes cassettes with a largest cog of 28T to 36T. Common road options like 11-30T, 11-32T, 11-34T and 11-36T all fit within that range.
- eGR (gravel): designed for wide-range 1x cassettes with a largest cog of 42T to 50T, such as 11-42T, 11-46T and 11-50T.
Because LTWOO derailleurs are motor-driven and tuned through the app, they aren't tied to one brand's cable pull ratio. The cassette just needs to fit your wheel's freehub body and fall inside the tooth range above.
Speed compatibility: 10, 11, 12 and 13 speed
You choose the number of speeds in the free LTWOO app (iOS and Android), not by buying different parts.
- eRX: 2x10, 2x11 or 2x12
- eGR: 1x10, 1x11, 1x12 or 1x13
That makes LTWOO a practical upgrade from an older 10 or 11-speed bike. Set the groupset to match your current cassette and chain, keep riding, and move to 12-speed when your drivetrain is due for replacement. Your chain and cassette always need to match the speed you've set.
The eGR's 13-speed option future-proofs the groupset. Most riders will run 11 or 12-speed today, because 13-speed cassettes with an 11T smallest cog are less common.
Crankset and chainring compatibility
eRX front derailleur
The eRX front derailleur suits 2x road cranksets with:
- A big chainring up to 54T
- A maximum 16T difference between the big and small rings
- A chainline of 43.5–44.5mm, which matches standard Shimano road cranksets (43.5mm)
That covers the common road combinations: 50/34 compact, 52/36 semi-compact and 53/39 standard. A 46/30 sub-compact also sits inside the 16T capacity.
eGR chainring
The eGR is 1x only, with no front derailleur. Use a narrow-wide single chainring up to 50T that suits your crankset and frame clearance. A 50t front chainring will limite your rear cassette to 11-42.
Frame compatibility
Will the eRX fit my frame?
The eRX uses a semi-wireless layout similar to Shimano Di2. The shifters are wireless, but both derailleurs are wired to a battery inside the seatpost. Your frame needs:
- A braze-on front derailleur mount, with an installation angle of 61–66°
- Internal routing ports for electronic derailleur wires
- Space in the seatpost for the battery, which is similar in size to a Shimano Di2 seatpost battery
- A rear derailleur hanger
If your frame is Di2-ready, it will almost certainly take the eRX.
Will the eGR fit my frame?
Very likely. The eGR is fully wireless, with the battery built into the rear derailleur. There are no wires to route and no battery to fit inside the frame. If your gravel bike has a rear derailleur hanger, including a UDH, the eGR can go on it, even if the frame was never designed for electronic shifting.
Are LTWOO derailleurs UDH compatible?
Yes. LTWOO derailleurs are generally compatible with SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH).
Brake compatibility
Both groupsets use hydraulic disc brakes with direct mount (flat mount) calipers set up for 160mm rotors, front and rear. Flat mount is the standard on modern road and gravel frames and forks. The brakes run on mineral oil.
Things to check:
- Rotor size: the calipers are set up for 160mm rotors, which aren't included.
- Post mount frames: the calipers are direct mount/flat mount only, so they don't suit post mount frames or forks.
- Proprietary brake mounts: a small number of frames use non-standard mounts, such as some Specialized models (Tarmac SL8, Aethos and Crux). Check with us before buying if you ride one of these.
Replacement brake pads
Shimano L05A resin pads can be used as a replacement for LTWOO brake pads. L05A pads are widely available, so finding spares is easy.
Batteries and charging
Are batteries included?
Yes, all batteries are included with both groupsets, including the CR2032 coin cells that power the wireless shifters.
How do you charge LTWOO eRX?
The eRX uses a rechargeable lithium battery that sits inside your seatpost. It is wired to both derailleurs and charged with the included USB-C cable. The shifters each run on a CR2032 coin cell, which you replace when it runs flat.
How do you charge LTWOO eGR?
The eGR's rear derailleur has a built-in, non-removable battery that you charge directly with the included USB-C cable. The shifters run on CR2032 coin cells.
Setting up LTWOO with the app
Setup is done in the free LTWOO app. You pair the shifters, choose your number of speeds and fine-tune the derailleur position gear by gear.
Warranty: why buying from an authorised retailer matters
LTWOO provides a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. The warranty applies to the original purchaser. It covers product faults or failures that aren't caused by accidental damage, misuse or other customer-caused damage.
Frequently asked questions
Does LTWOO work with Shimano cassettes?
Yes, as long as the cassette's smallest cog is 11T and its largest cog is within the groupset's range. For eRX, that's 28–36T. For eGR, it's 42–50T. Shimano road cassettes with an 11T smallest cog, such as 11-30T, 11-32T and 11-34T, suit the eRX.
Does LTWOO work with SRAM cassettes?
Only SRAM cassettes with an 11T smallest cog. Most SRAM AXS road and XPLR gravel cassettes start with a 10T cog, so they aren't compatible with the LTWOO eRX or eGR.
Can I use LTWOO eRX with an 11-speed cassette?
Yes. The eRX can be set to 2x10, 2x11 or 2x12 speed in the LTWOO app, so you can run your existing 11-speed cassette and chain and switch to 12-speed later.
What is the biggest chainring LTWOO eRX can use?
The eRX front derailleur suits a big chainring up to 54T, with no more than a 16T difference between the two chainrings. Compact 50/34, semi-compact 52/36 and standard 53/39 cranksets all work.
What is the biggest chainring LTWOO eGR can use?
The eGR is a 1x groupset that suits a single chainring up to 50T. Check your frames clearance and note the limitation of a rear cassette maximim of 42t.
Does LTWOO eGR need a front derailleur mount?
No. The eGR is a 1x-only groupset with no front derailleur, so it doesn't need a front derailleur mount.
Is LTWOO compatible with UDH?
Yes. LTWOO derailleurs are generally compatible with the SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH)
Do LTWOO groupsets come with a crankset and cassette?
No. The LTWOO eRX and eGR are mini groupsets. They include the shifters, derailleurs, hydraulic brakes and charging cable (plus the seatpost battery on eRX), but not the crankset, cassette, chain or brake rotors.
Are the CR2032 batteries for the shifters included?
Yes. All batteries are included with both LTWOO groupsets, including the CR2032 coin cells for the wireless shifters.
What brake pads fit LTWOO brakes?
Shimano L05A resin pads can be used as a replacement for LTWOO hydraulic disc brake pads.
What rotor size do LTWOO brakes use?
The LTWOO eRX and eGR brakes come with direct mount calipers set up for 160mm rotors front and rear. Rotors aren't included.
Does LTWOO have a warranty in Australia?
Yes. LTWOO offers a 2-year manufacturer's warranty to the original purchaser on products bought through authorised channels, covering faults not caused by accidents, misuse or customer damage.
How much is LTWOO electronic shifting in Australia?
The LTWOO eRX 10–12 Speed Carbon Road Mini Groupset is $999.99, and the LTWOO eGR 10–13 Speed Carbon Gravel Mini Groupset is $719.99.
