Most tubeless sealant is designed around mountain bike pressures. Road and gravel riders run their tyres much harder, and that changes what a sealant has to do. Stan's has released Rolled Gold, a formula made specifically for those pressures, and it's in stock now

What's new
Rolled Gold is designed to seal punctures in tyres running between 35 and 100 psi (2.4 to 6.9 bar), which covers everything from a plush gravel setup to a firm road tyre. In Stan's testing, it sealed a round puncture up to 7.8mm across at 100 psi, and the tyre was still holding 97 psi after the plug formed.
Less sealant, same protection
Because it's built for higher pressures, you can run less of it. Stan's says a 700c x 28mm tyre needs as little as 35ml of Rolled Gold. Stan's Original calls for about 50ml in the same tyre, and the wider market averages 50 to 60ml.

That's 15ml or more saved per tyre, which is a small but real weight reduction at the wheel, where it counts most.
It also goes in the easy way. Rolled Gold can be injected through the valve with the Stan's Sealant Injector or the 60ml and 125ml bottles, so you don't need to break a bead to top up or set up.
How it works
When a tyre is punctured, the pressure difference pushes sealant toward the hole at speed. That sudden change makes the latex particles burst almost instantly and clump into a plug. Rolled Gold has a high concentration of latex and a high count of small particles, which helps it build that plug quickly, even across bigger cuts.
The latex is 100% natural rather than synthetic. Stan's says natural latex has longer polymer chains, so it's stronger and grips rubber and casing fibres better. It also stays less brittle once cured, so it's less likely to crumble over the life of the tyre. It's plant-derived, renewable and sourced to EUDR deforestation-free standards. The formula is water-based and biodegradable, and it's made and bottled in the USA.
The spec sheet
- Pressure range: 35–100 psi (2.4–6.9 bar)
- Max puncture sealed: 7.8mm round puncture at 100 psi
- Dose: from 35ml in a 700c x 28mm tyre
- Temperature range: -20°F to 120°F (about -29°C to 49°C)
- Suits: road, gravel and XC MTB tyres
- Install: through the valve, or via injector or bottle
Where it fits in the Stan's range
Rolled Gold doesn't replace anything. Stan's Original is still the versatile everyday choice across all disciplines, but it needs more volume and isn't tuned for road and gravel pressures. Race Day packs in larger latex particles for maximum protection in harsh conditions, but those particles are too big to inject through the valve, so it's heavier and fiddlier to set up.
Rolled Gold sits in between. It's for riders who want lighter wheels and easy installation without giving up sealing performance.

Our take
If you ride road or gravel tubeless and you've been using a general-purpose sealant, this is worth a look. The lower dose, valve-injection and high-pressure tuning all suit the way our riders actually set up their bikes. We'll share our own ride impressions once we've put some kilometres on it.
